In my great adoration of puritan writings, and now reading Pilgrim's Progress (so brilliant), I am struck at how God's truth and the bond of the Spirit truly transcends time. While the ways of this quickly perishing world is whimsical, ever changing, lust chasing, like chaff in the wind , TRUTH, God's eternal truth can form a bond between believers centuries apart! I am delighted at the thought of one day praising God in His Celestial City with these saints who are already there!

I like that thought. We often apply it to those who have "immediately" preceded us into the kingdom...like our grandparents or spiritual leaders who recently went to be with Jesus. But as for me, I remember something Pastor Stephanie said: "All Christians are spiritual descendents of at least one of the apostles...the first ones who spread the Gospel." I wonder...who was my great-great-great (you get the idea) grandfather in the Spirit? Can't wait to thank him, too!
